National Prize “Khristo G. Danov” - 2010 The Bulgarian national literary prize “Khristo G. Danov” has been established in 1999 by the Ministry of Culture, National Book Center and Municipality Plovdiv. It is awarded each year on the occasion of 24 May – The Day of the Bulgarian enlightenment and culture and the Slavonic literacy. The prize winners are writers with contribution in the national literary culture during the year.
On 11 June 2010 the authoritative jury has bestowed at the official ceremony in the town of Plovdiv the following literary prizes “Khristo G. Danov”:
BULGARIAN FICTION: • Teodora Dimova – for the novel “Marma, Mariam” - S.:Ciela
TRANSLATED FICTION: • Georgi Angelov – for the translation of “Dobrozhelatelnite” – by Jonathan Littell – S.:Colibri
HUMANITARISTICS: • Vladimir Sabourin – for “Sveshtenotrezvoto. Mistika i modernost” – V.T.: University publishing house “St.Cyril and St.Methodius”
ART OF THE BOOK: • Iasen Giuzelev – for the illustrations of the book “Alisa v stranata na chudesata” – S.:IK “Todor Nejkov”
CHILDRENS LITERATURE: • Ivan Krustev – for “Azbukata v gatanki” - S.:Dir.bg
For her entire contribution to the Bulgarian literary culture: • Bozhana Apostolova – writer and publisher, encourager of young Bulgarian literary talents.
