National Literary Prize “Elias Canetti” - 2009 The documental novel “Goreshto cherveno” by Ivajla Aleksandrova has won the National literary prize “Elias Canetti”. It was awarded on a ceremony in the town of Rousse – the birthplace of the famous novelist and non-fiction writer Elias Canetti. Among the 53 candidate-books the following 7 titles have been nominated:

- Nedelia vecher – by Zakhari Karabashliev (drama)
The national competition “Elias Canetti” for new prose and dramaturgy by Bulgarian authors is held bi-annually. This year is its third edition. Ivajla Aleksandrova is its third winner after Konstantin Iliev – “Porazhenie” and Alek Popov – “Chernata kutiia”. |
