“Golden lion” Awards On the 12th of December, 2014 “Bulgarian book” association awarded the “Golden lion” awards for the best publishing project of the year.
The “Golden lion” awards are bestowed in two categories:
1st. Category – Award for the publishing project with the biggest social importance.
The prize is awarded for book or series of books, examining important social problems.
This award was won by “Hermes” publishing house for the novel “Kalunia Kalia” by Georgi Bozhinov – a significant work by an almost forgotten author.
2nd. Category – Award for the best publishing project of 2014. This award is given for book or series of books with original concept and contribution to the Bulgarian culture, with high quality of the text, good translation and original design.
The expert jury awarded the prize to Prof. Marin Drinov Academic Publishing House for “Encyclopedia Bulgarian Renaissance”, Vol. 1., editor-in-chief Rumiana Damianova for the innovative approach in the study of literature, periodicals, literary life and cultural institutions of the Renaissance, for the contribution with unpublished information and materials about personalities and cultural centers and quality polygraphic layout.
